From the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean…well, Albemarle Sound, but close enough. Cami and Dwight made quite the trek moving clear across the county from Riverside, California to Albemarle Plantation. When asked why Albemarle Plantation, they answered “for the remoteness.” From six lane, bumper to bumper highways to clean air and NO traffic, that’s something we can all understand.
So, how did they learn about Albemarle Plantation in California? They found it online, requested a mailer, one thing led to another, and their first visit was enough. “We loved the beauty of AP, how well maintained the golf course and grounds were, and the open feel of the Randolph’s Village area,” they said. As fate would have it, Randolph’s Village is exactly where they found their new home, and they joined The “Village People” in January 2022.
Cami was born and raised in southern California and Dwight relocated there from Arkansas at a young age. Cami retired as the Safe Schools Director for the County Office of Education serving 23 school districts with over 400,000 students. Dwight retired from his career in education as an athletic administrator and football coach for a high school with 4,400 students. They have three daughters: one remains in California, another lives in the Detroit area, and the third lives in Virginia Beach with their two granddaughters. Grandkids…. Now there’s a good reason to move across the country.
Dwight loves to play golf, collect Civil War memorabilia, and really likes to drive his stunning, mint green, 1949 Ford Woodie wagon. Cami is also a golfer and enjoys quilting and gardening. They are pet lovers, too—just imagine how full their hands must have been driving across the country with both dogs and cats. Wow!
