What’s Open on the Inner Banks

Aug 25, 2020 | About Albemarle

Times they are a‘changing and who doesn’t crave the normalcy…and deliciousness of sitting down at a restaurant or doing some afternoon browsing at your favorite local boutique?  Lucky for us, our rural location and early social distancing practices have paid off, and we remain one of the lowest impacted areas for COVID-19 in North Carolina, and therefore we have been able to open up some of your local favorite spots!

We all know and love the Clubhouse Restaurant and Dockside Cafe and are so thankful to be able to enjoy a meal away from home, but also close enough for some of us to walk!  However, what else is open around us? Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner you crave, Captain Bob’s Restaurant is where it’s at!  Their doors have remained open and they continue to offer their famous southern style dinners and home cooked seafood options!  How do you take your espresso? We prefer ours with a side of giving back to the community!  In these crazy times we are so happy that the doors of Brews 2 Rescue are still open too.  Stop by and enjoy a beverage and some great food and leave with a sense of good will knowing that 100% of their proceeds go to help the fight against Human Trafficking.

In nearby Edenton, the historic downtown area is where most of the restaurants are still open and thriving. What can you expect to find? Small coffee shops like the Edenton Coffee House are open and offering yummy pastries and treats for breakfast or an afternoon snack after exploring the town. There are several restaurants like, 309 Bistro or Famous Subs and Pizza open for a casual lunch. Fine dining is still an option with restaurants like our personal favorite, The Table at Inner Banks, offering their same amazing menu and service while respecting social distancing practices.

If entertainment is what you are looking for, there are still fun things to do near us.  Golfing at The Sound Golf Links is always an option but if you need a change of scenery (even though Albemarle Plantation has the best scenery around!), The Links at Mulberry Hill are also open.  All they ask is that you remember to practice safe distancing while playing golf, not to congregate on tees and greens, and to maintain a safe distance from other people when in the clubhouse.  And of course there are always the many wonderful water activities you can participate in all year long right here in your backyard!
