SUMMER ATTRACTIONS around Albemarle Plantation

Who needs to use Summer as an excuse to live like you’re on vacation when you live in the best active living community around?! And if the activities within the neighborhood aren’t enough to keep you busy all Summer, the many exciting attractions taking place around us sure will!
Looking for a day full of family fun and entertainment? Don’t miss the NC Potato Festival! Grab a potato sack and race on down to Elizabeth City! Don’t miss the crowning of Little Miss Tater Tot or the fastest potato peelers on the East Coast competing in the National Potato Peeling Contest! Play some corn hole and be entertained with live music and performances on 3 stages! The night isn’t over until the annual street dance and fireworks finale!
Nearby Hertford will be hosting the 21st Annual Music and Water Festival…two of our favorite things! Burn off all those carbs you ate at the Potato Festival with a Guided Sunset Paddle to launch off the festivities! Hop in a kayak or canoe and enjoy some complimentary refreshments served on the water while you revel in the beauty of the sunset! There will be something for everyone with crafts, face painting, bounces houses and children’s water activities as well as performances on the waterfront stage and musicians on and off stage for your entertainment!
When you think of Summer, do the tastes and smells of fresh fruits, vegetables and meats come to mind? Then you won’t want to miss the deliciousness of the season at the Edenton Farmers Market! Stock up and enjoy yourself every Saturday from 9am to noon and Wednesday from 3-6pm at the market’s new permanent inside location!
If after all that, you still have an appetite, the Inner Banks is the perfect place to satisfy that craving for fresh seafood! The Taste of Edenton will feature close to 20 restaurants for guests to take a culinary tour of regional cuisine. This year’s 18th Annual Shrimp By the Bay will be serving up shrimp, fish and plenty of tempting sides; not to mention live entertainment! There is never a dull moment at Albemarle Plantation!
