SPRING EVENTS around Albemarle Plantation

Spring has sprung and with that, our desire for fun in the sun is renewed! Lucky for us, these are plenty of exciting Spring Festivals and activities to do in and around Albemarle Plantation!
Mark your calendars for the Albemarle Master Gardener Spring Garden Show on May 4th! Admission is free and the fun is priceless! It all takes place at the Perquimans County Recreation Center from 9am-3pm. Bring your appetite for lunch and a bake sale. Bring the kids for educational exhibits and kids’ play area! There will be vendors, speakers, a plant sale and so much more to get you ready for Spring!
Nearby Edenton is where it’s at this season! The whole month of April is NC Beer Month in historic Edenton! Come take the “Taverns and Trolleys“ tour for a guided trolley ride and learn all about the role beer played in the development of the area. Enjoy stops at local bars and breweries and get a taste of the local flavor!
Spring isn’t complete without a visit from the Easter Bunny! Historic Edenton State Historic Site is hosting our annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny program April 20, 2019 from 8am-11am. The morning starts with a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny at 8am. After breakfast, hop on over to the Chowan County Courthouse Green to take photos with the Easter Bunny, get your face painted, and participate in an easter egg hunt with candy AND special prizes!
Nothing says Spring like…potatoes! Albemarle Sound grows a large portion of the state’s potato crop and Elizabeth City has been celebrating that fact since the 1940’s at the NC Potato Festival! The festival will take place May 17-19th and will include a street fair, rides, and contests. Join the more than 30,000 participants in celebrating this year!!
We can’t forget this year’s Riverbash in nearby Hertford either! There will be events for the whole family to enjoy! Children can enjoy bounce houses, a petting zoo, pirate adventures and even inflatable archery tag! The fun isn’t limited to the younger crowd though! Everyone can enjoy live music, art exhibits, food trucks and so much more!
