Albemarle Plantation may be known for its peaceful seclusion but that doesn’t mean that life in the Inner Banks is boring!  There are plenty of opportunities for fun and entertainment coming up in the area this season.

Nearby Hertford is bustling with activity!  This year marks the 350th anniversary of North Eastern North Carolina so get ready to celebrate with Riverbash!  There will be events for the whole family to enjoy!  Children can enjoy bounce houses, a petting zoo, pirate adventures and even inflatable archery tag!   The fun isn’t limited to the younger crowd though!  Everyone can enjoy live music, art exhibits, food trucks and so much more!   For those in the mood for nightlife, check out the Dine, Drink and Dance following the day time festivities!

Albemarle Plantation has its share of culture and sophistication and you can experience it all at the Arts of Albemarle.  The museum offers a free jazz event the third Thursday of every month.  Listen to live music and enjoy beer, wine and refreshments and fabulous company.  There are many events featuring, music, art, dancing and fun happening monthly!

Check out the Carolina Moon Theater for fun performances from local bands, actors and artists as well.  The theater is dedicated to keeping the history of Hertford alive through the performing arts.   This season’s feature is a comedic play titled “Nana’s Naughty Knickers”.

Visit nearby Edenton for even more history and entertainment.  Edenton is celebrating the 350th anniversary with a “Step Back in Time” demonstration.  Learn how fields were planted and cultivated hundreds of years ago and enjoy displays of farm equipment through the ages.  Also, the Chowan Arts Council will be celebrating with the artwork of local artists, Susan and Ashlee Birkhead on display all month.

For those beer and wine enthusiasts among us, the Albemarle area has plenty to offer your pallet as well.  Ghost Harbor Brewing Company is always a blast.  Enjoy amazing brews and a special St. Patrick’s Day appetizer on March 17thThe Outer Banks Brewing Station is open daily and offer weekly events to keep you entertained.  Enjoy everything from brewery tours, live music, open mic nights, trivia nights and even beer yoga!  This month features a one mile beer run!  Attempt it if you dare!
