“Fall” in Love with the Inner Banks

Sep 22, 2020 | About Albemarle

“Is not this a true autumn day? Just the still melancholy that I love—that makes life and nature harmonize.” –George Eliot

It’s (almost) fall, y’all! And there are so many reasons to be excited about the turn of the seasons when you live near the Inner Banks! I think we are all craving the comfort of warm sweaters and fluffy scarves and boots; not to mention the familiarity of autumn activities that we all have fond memories of. Luckily for us, The Inner Banks is full of natural fall beauty that you can enjoy while maintaining a safe social distance. What’s not to love?!

As fall’s temperatures begin to drop, our fishing heats up along the inner banks of NC! The fall is a great time to target Speckled Trout, Redfish, Striped Bass, and White Perch just to name a few! The weather is perfect to spend an entire day out on the water enjoying the views and filling up your cooler.
Cooler weather does not have to mean the end of water activities either. The Albemarle Sound offers marinas, fishing, canoe trails, sailing tours, and just about anything else water related an enthusiast can think of. Canoeing trails are some of the most popular attractions in this part of the state and can be done well in to the fall.

Now is also the perfect time to get out and hit the links without melting! The weather is about as ideal as it gets for a couple rounds, spend time with friends and neighbors and stay 6 feet apart if necessary! Even if your aren’t a golf enthusiast, it is a great excuse to get out and enjoy the crisp air and socialize while taking in the gorgeous fall scenery.

“No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face.” -John Doone

We agree that Autumn is the most beautiful season. With gold, orange and brown confetti sprinkled around the area, the Inner Banks is a sight to behold. North Carolina’s famed fall foliage lives up to its rep, wherever you go to leaf-peep in the state. But we personally believe that the fall foliage that lines the shores of the Inner Banks is second to none.
