Arts of the Albemarle – This regional arts council located in Elizabeth City, proudly services Pasquotank County, NC. Generously funded by the NC Arts Council, among other organizations, memberships and volunteers are the lifeblood of the organization. Their world-class facility houses the Jaquelin Jenkins Gallery, home to regional artists, craftsmen, and photographers. The Maguire Theatre hosts a variety of stage performances, live music, and events.
Perquimans Arts League – This community gallery in Hertford exhibits and sells the work of several artists from the surrounding area. In addition to painting and photography, visitors will find a variety of hand-crafted jewelry and pottery, glass items, and wood carvings, as well as books by local authors. Be sure to visit their website for events and exhibits. This non-profit organization is run with the help of volunteers, and also offers classes and workshops.
Carolina Moon Theater Group – Hertford’s non-profit community theater promotes performing arts and adds to the cultural lives of those in our and surrounding communities. The theater is designed to allow newcomers the opportunity to learn about and participate in local theater; while also challenging more experienced veterans to hone their skills, explore, and learn other aspects of theater production, and mentor others with less experience. The goal of the theater group is to provide opportunities in a small professional theater setting, while also providing first-class theater at reasonable prices.
Chowan Arts Council – “Your Community Arts Center” is just that — a community place where you can enjoy art and good fellowship operating in Edenton, NC. From beautiful wall art to functional art like pottery, jewelry, furniture, or other unique handmade items. This member-supported, non-profit organization is on a mission to “sponsor, encourage, and create opportunities for the participation in — and appreciation of — the visual, literary, and performing arts in Chowan County.”
