Since 1998, there has been a Christmas tree in the Clubhouse decorated with holiday cards. This tree represents the generosity of the Plantation folks who send a card for the tree with a check for the local Salvation Army (in lieu of sending individual cards to AP friends). The Salvation Army’s motto is “Doing the Most Good.” All donations are distributed locally in Perquimans County to provide services and programs that restore broken lives and provide for those in need. Each year, the generosity exhibited by our residents to those less fortunate is noteworthy. This year the project chair people, Pam d’Emery, Nancy Escheman, and Kathy Hotz, report that more than $9,800 has been collected as of December 1. Stop at the Clubhouse to see the cards of our generous and thoughtful residents who are participating in the AP Holiday Card Tradition.
The Clubhouse also features a menorah that will be lit during the eight -day holiday of Hanukkah beginning Wednesday, December 13th.
