To help celebrate this Christmas season, The Trinity Bells will present their annual concert “Ding, Dong, Merrily on High” on Thursday, December 17th at 4:00 in the Clubhouse Albemarle Room.
Trinity Bells is part of the music ministry of Hertford’s Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The bellringers are an ecumenical group of musicians from the area who share their special sounds with community organizations and area churches.
The group began performing in 1998 under the leadership of Anne Wallis, a resident of Albemarle Plantation. Eda Van de Bogart served as Director from 2003 to 2012 until she “retired.” Ken Ries currently serves as Director. Some ringers have been playing bells for many years, while others learned this skill since moving to the Hertford area. If you read music and are interested in joining this group, please contact any member for further details.
The bell collection was donated to the Church by its members and friends. The original set of bells has memorial or honorific inscriptions on the handles. Subsequent acquisitions have increased the bells and chimes to four octaves, in addition to extra bass chimes and one fifth-octave bell. Memorial donations have continued to provide for this organization
Mark your calendar and join in the festive event; come early to ensure you have a seat! This free concert is followed by a buffet dinner served in the Clubhouse Restaurant. Remember to make your dinner reservations in advance by calling the Clubhouse (426-2252) as soon as possible.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All!
