IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: PAL Needs Your Help

The Perquimans Arts League (PAL) purchased a building at 133 North Church Street on December 29, 2017. It has exciting potential but is currently just a shell. There is no water, no HVAC system and no electricity. Not only will the new building be an elegant gallery and gift shop for PAL but the second floor will also provide space to hold classes/meetings. The building is a blank palette waiting for PAL to transform into a showplace for downtown Hertford.

Hence PAL has begun a serious fund-raising campaign to get the building up and running. One event is the Tag Sale scheduled for Saturday, May 18th at PAL’s new building.

The PAL gallery is currently located at 109 N. Church Street in Hertford, NC. It is a non-profit organization (501c3) founded in 1995 to promote artistic endeavor in Perquimans County. The gallery, which is run by volunteers, provides a venue for local artists to display their work and features a diverse selection of original works including paintings, photography, pottery, baskets, glass, fiber art and jewelry. League members also volunteer to work with schools and others to help develop literary, visual and performing arts programs. Visit PAL’s website for more information: www.perquimansarts.org
